Anakin Skywalker is the main character of the Star Wars Saga. He was born into slavery on the desert planet of Tatooine until being freed by Qui-Gon Jinn because of his strong connection with the Force. After Qui-Gon's death at the hands of Darth Maul, he was taken on as a padawan by Obi-Wan Kenobi. Anakin became an accomplished Jedi Knight, eventually taking on a padawan of his own during the Clone Wars named Ahsoka Tano. Eventually, he married his childhood sweetheart, Queen Padmé Amidala with whom he fathered two children: Luke and Leia Skywalker. He turned to the dark side of the Force to try and save a dying Padmé, but gave in completely to the hate after a duel with Obi-Wan on the fiery planet of Mustafar, becoming the ruthless Sith Lord known as Darth Vader.
